To minimise big flames, carbon buildup, and smoky flames, trim the wick. Each time the candle is lighted, trim the wick to 14” (7mm). Allowing the candle to burn all the way down to the base is not a good idea. When the candle holder’s burning surfaces, particularly the base, become hot during usage, place it on a non-flammable glass or ceramic container.
